Our client, a global leader in the clothing industry for more than one hundred years, is looking for a Buyer.

Job description
Reporting to the Unit Leader, the Buyer is the interface between financial control and planning & allocation, he/she executes the buying activities of a certain type of clothes for a brand/business unit in order to provide the correct merchandise at the correct time for availability for the stores.

The Buyer's key responsibilities are :
* As the expert of your product line and its market, you make the appropriate recommendations and provide input for the yearly buying plan on high level in order to keep it realistic.

* Your insight and knowledge of market trends and production possibilities contribute to a market sensitive collection that can be produced on time at a reasonable cost and at the best possible CCP. Develop these assets by keeping a regular presence in the field;

* Collect, compile and analyze specific requirements for each region

* Select suppliers according to need and profit optimization. Evaluate and maintain accurate knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses to guarantee optimal order placement and contribute to reliable, flexible, mutually profitable and socially and environmentally responsible manufacturing sources;

* Define and monitor timelines from collection sketches till order placement and take corrective actions when necessary to assure on time product availability;

* Control product samples' quality and fit in order to ensure they match expectations

* Respecting the code of conduct guidelines, negotiate prices, place and track orders, identify and implement the necessary corrective actions in order to assure merchandise delivery in terms of quality, timing, and cost.

Who we are looking for
You have at least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience and an excellent track-record in product marketing and/or purchasing in an fast pace environment. An outspoken interest for fashion and/or clothing is a must.

Gifted with a combination of analytical, problem-solving, creative, and sales skills, you are a true project leader and your drive enables you to coordinate successfully internal and external teams throughout the product life cycle. Result driven, your negotiation skills give you an edge in optimizing performance. Passionate by fashion you feed your curiosity with specialized press and are a regular in outlets.

Finally, you are perfectly fluent in English. Any additional language skill is an asset.
