The Central Engineering Europe is looking for a Senior Project Manager.
Job description
The Project Manager oversees all aspects of the project using planning, monitoring and controlling processes. He is responsible for co-ordination and completion of the project and to this end will perform a variety of tasks including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarising progress of the project. He may be responsible for more than one project at a time.
o Develop, plan, coordinate and direct the execution of all phases of a project from concept to completion and customer acceptance
o Analyze various options for all phases of project execution, cost savings, schedules improvement and establish a project implementation plan
o Manage engineering, planning, control, procurement, and construction personnel in a matrix organization to accomplish project objectives
o Motivate project team member and work with the project team members to ensure adequate and timely work to accomplish objectives
o Resolve issues and coordinate activities by serving as the focal point between the engineering, project team, and contractors
o Negotiate issues with contractors/suppliers to the best interest of the project including plants rules
o Respond to day to day issues requiring design engineering, including safety modifications.
o Deliver the objectives of the project on time, within budget tolerance, and meeting the fitness for use
o Prepare a project implementation plan complete with schedule, project organization, and contract strategy
o Communicate well through periodic reports and review with the project team and engineering management.
You manage continuous improvement and monitor performance:
o Establish clear written project expectations and measurements of the objectives at the beginning of each project.
o Follow up after construction by evaluating the Fitness for Uses
o Participate on improvement teams.
o Design and implement plant specific projects including training, maintenance recommendations, etc.
o Maintain competency and state-of-art knowledge in pertinent aspects of engineering disciplines.
o Recommend improvements to the process and equipment.
o Train and mentor other engineers.
Who we are looking for
You hold an University degree in engineering, you are an industrial engineer, or have a comparable level. You have a "polyvalent" education: mechanic, electricity, physics,... and at least 5 years of experience managing mechanical main equipment design and production projects.
Ideally, this includes experience with project management software, techniques and presentation methods; mechanical systems as conveyors, gearboxes, saws, pumps, belts, packaging equipment; machine control (PLC, control systems); basic techno/economic analysis; and instrumentation.
You are autonomous and persuasive, short-line in communication, strong in teamwork, proficient in leading, training, and facilitating teams. You are able to self-organize and willing to pass frequent short period's abroad (about 50%). You have a serious dose of tenacity and you are able to manage and account for the details without getting lost in them, proactive "get it done" attitude.
You are fluent in English and German, knowledge of French, Dutch or other is a plus.
