About our client
Our client is a prestigious consultancy company active worldwide. They are working on both international and local projects with clients from every sector and industry.
They are currently looking for a Head of Finance Operations for their internal Finance department.

Job description
The Head of Finance Operations reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for managing the finance operations function.

A) SCOPE

The scope of this function includes the management of the following operations:

- accounts payable third party
- accounts payable inter-territory
- general ledger
- treasury
- credit & collection
- work in progress
- billing
- accounting and tax compliance

B) OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSABILITIES

Ensure finance operations are managed according to legislation, policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Manage accounting and financial systems and maintain full and accurate accounting records
- Prepare financial statements
- Provide financial and accounting advice, direction and leadership
- Ensure compliance with financial legislation, policies and procedures
- Respond to auditors' comments and oversee required action to address deficiencies
- Approve the Chart of Accounts and maintain commitment controls
- Implement and monitor payment authority practices
- Establish and maintain cash controls
- Monitor department spending and recommend corrective actions as necessary
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Enhance processes/procedures

Provide leadership and direction to Finance and Administration staff to ensure efficient use of human resources
- Evaluate the performance of and coach Finance staff also in their personal development
- Manage the maintenance and upgrade of financial information systems
- Provide leadership by delegating tasks, responding to staff inquiries
- Provide overall direction to employees

Through yourself and/or your team ensure that
- Ensure effective running of accounts payable/general ledger/treasury and net investment
- Ensure accounting and tax compliance
- Effective liaison with local management + head of business planning and controlling
- Effective liaison with regulatory authorities
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies

Who we are looking for
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

University degree (economics)
General accepted accounting principles

EXPERIENCE

Experience in a similar function in a similar business
Experience in a similar function over at least 5 to 10 years


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluent in English, French, Dutch
