Job description
The Business Development Lead for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) is responsible for leading direct sponsor bank sales activities in EMEA, with a primary focus on France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK. This includes soliciting new sponsor banks and retention of existing sponsor banks to drive revenue. The position may also oversee the project team focused on enabling sponsor banks to become effective in marketing, selling, implementing public and private sector commercial customers. This also includes designing strategies for key sponsors to sell solutions, which will include promotion, training, and joint sales and marketing. The position will work closely with internal and external partners, to ensure appropriate communication flows and that there is a valued and sustained business relationship with clients.
Potential end customers for sponsor banks are large market companies, mid market customers, state/local public sectors and government entities. In order to secure new business, the position will be required to work with sponsor banks and complex accounts, with multiple owners for the commercial segment and multiple locations, many having regional or global reach.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute country-based strategies for signing-up sponsor banks in the EMEA region;
* Collaborate with the partner's product team to engage with prospects;
* Coordinate sales activities and meetings until contract signature. Additional responsibilities may include: oversight of sponsor banks enablement, development of strategies for key sponsor banks to increase sales to end clients (including: financial, RFP response support and joint calling on accounts/prospects);
* Expand understanding of local needs and regulations, Develop strategies that position the business to shape and capitalize on emerging customer and market needs, Collaborate with the product/program management team regarding new product requirements;
* Continuously review client landscape, and recommend, develop and implement new and creative approaches to growing the business;
* Utilize a consultative sales approach that ensures client business objectives are met and that performance metrics for their portfolios are maximized;
* Consult with finance and other members of the business development team on deal structures to ensure returns on client investment while maximizing profitability;
* Foster in-depth and productive relationships at all levels with the client and the partner organizations;
* Actively participate and lead various ad-hoc internal projects as assigned;
* Sell the value of the solutions by representing the company at public forums and industry-related events.
Who we are looking for
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate the following qualifications:
* Over 10 years of business experience, with a least 5 years of management consulting or business development experience;
* University degree required, an MBA is a plus;
* Experience with EIPP (Electronic Invoice Presentment & Payment), trade finance and treasury/cash management products and services is mandatory;
* Solid knowledge of regional trends in the industry;
* Experience in managing the launch of a client in new products and services from concept to commercialization is an asset;
* Exceptional presentation skills, and superior English written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish effective relationships across all levels, including executive management;
* Experience working with financial indicators to measure business performance including P&L responsibility and accurately forecasting sources of cost, revenue and risk with an ability to summarize business and financial data in a useful manner for planning and decision making;
* Superior analytical skills;
* Proven ability negotiating business agreements, plus the ability to enhance existing and develop new business partnerships;
* Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a high level of success/achievement.
