About our client
Our client, a key player on the European Insurance scene, is seeking an experienced Policy Advisor for its Brussels head office.
Job description
As Policy Advisor, you are a key memeber of the Economics and Finance department. Your responsabilities include :
* Become the subject matter expert on specific economic and financial aspects of (re)insurance, with a focus on prudential regulation.
* Review and assess emerging developments in technical and analytical areas of insurance and potential impact on a part or their entire industry. * Anticipate emerging trends and issues of importance for the European insurance industry in the relevant area.
* Provide thorough analysis of developments and their impact. Communicate information constructively and effectively. Advises management on actions to undertake.
* Provide services to embers, e.g. be a point of contact for the members, update members regarding legislative developments.
* Support internal working groups and committees.
* Organise and assume responsibility for contacts and coordination with external stakeholders, including EU authorities, as well as other public or private organisations.
* Be able to develop the position, and influence external partners.
* Contribute to studies in order to help formulate proposals for regulation or legislation.
* Provide content to publications and participate actively in seminars and conferences.
Who we are looking for
To be eligible for the Policy Advisor position, you must demonstrate :
* University degree such as M.sc, MBA, PhD or equivalent education * Ability to manage complexity, strong analytical skills
* Active listener, skilled and efficient communicator in an international and multi-cultural environment both verbally and in writing
* Competent and persuasive in your area of expertise
* Strong interpersonal skills and proven track record of ability to build consensus within a given time frame
* Team-player
* Excellent presentation skills
* Experience in a multi-cultural environment is advantageous
* Multi-lingual, i.e. proficiency in English, other languages desirable,
