Job Description

As the Advocacy Director, you will map political developments and identify opportunities for action across the continent. You will contribute to influencing public policies and strengthening political and financial commitments toward sexual and reproductive health and rights. You will also ensure these issues are integrated into regional and international agendas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a regional and sub-regional advocacy strategy.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with regional, sub-regional, and international institutions, including the African Union and the United Nations.
  • Design and implement evidence-based advocacy campaigns.
  • Strengthen the advocacy capacities of local and regional actors through training, mentoring, and field support.
  • Lead a network of partners and organizations engaged in defending sexual and reproductive health and rights.
  • Monitor and evaluate advocacy activities to ensure their impact.

The Successful Applicant

With a Master's degree in International Relations, Social Sciences, or Public Policy, you have at least 10 years of experience in political and institutional advocacy. You possess in-depth knowledge of intergovernmental dynamics in Africa. A strong background in SRHR issues will enable you to conduct effective and relevant advocacy in this field. You have proven analytical and strategic skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information. You also have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.
