About Our Client

This Dutch bank, established in 1980, specializes in ethical banking and sustainable investments. It operates across several European countries, financing projects that benefit both people and the environment.

Job Description

You are responsible for a portfolio of corporate clients in Belgium who are classified as "unlikely to pay" or "defaulted."

Your dual mission is to restore the client and their business to a "sustainable going concern" situation while minimizing losses for the bank. If there are realistic prospects for resolving the client's financial difficulties, your role is to analyze them, negotiate with the client, implement a concrete action plan, and ensure follow-up. Conversely, if the situation cannot be restored, you will be responsible for terminating the credit facilities and maximizing recovery for the bank.

You are therefore part of the Credit Risk department.

In line with the company's values, you communicate with all stakeholders in a smooth, transparent, and comprehensive manner throughout your intervention. Your contacts include the client, the relationship manager, and the credit committee, as well as the client's other banks, the trustee, legal advisor, notary, real estate broker, and other third parties such as investors or new shareholders.

The Successful Applicant

  • To succeed in this position, you should: Hold a university degree, preferably with a legal or economic focus.
  • Be capable of independently assessing financial and legal matters.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in relationship management or credit analysis for SME, corporate, or non-profit clients, or possess at least 5 years' experience as a lawyer in pre-litigation or litigation for similar clientele.
  • Be proficient in Dutch, with a good command of French and English.
  • Demonstrate resilience to stress and the ability to work autonomously within a team.
  • Exhibit assertiveness.
  • Be capable of conducting independent negotiations with external parties.
  • Possess a structured mindset, precision, and efficiency, enabling you to process extensive information.

What's on Offer

  • A salary commensurate with your position, our remuneration policy, and your experience.
  • An attractive package including meal vouchers, eco-vouchers, group and hospitalization insurance, 100% reimbursement of transportation costs, a company bicycle, etc.
  • The possibility to telework two to four days per week.
  • 32 days of leave and a 37-hour workweek.
  • Numerous learning and training opportunities.
