Job Description

Reporting into the EMEA HR Business Partner, the HR Business Belgium & The Netherlands will lead human resource functions by providing significant commercial HR support in an environment where service delivery is paramount. The HR Business Partner will work closely with the local management team, giving "hands-on" operational HR advice on employee relations, recruitment, selection, coaching, and management development.

  • Work closely with line managers to ensure HR policies and procedures are implemented Company wide.
  • Work with departmental managers to identify training and development needs and assist with individual development plans.
  • Plan and, when required, deliver training, including inductions for new staff.
  • Actively coach and participate in all employee relations issues within the functions, including investigations, disciplinarians, grievances and appeals, providing clear operational HR advice and guidance and active involvement as require.
  • With the managers, actively develop management succession plans and work pro-actively to ensure there is a talent pool available within the business.
  • Interpret and advise on employment legislation.
  • Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation.
  • Support the GM in the meetings with the Workers Council (Company Agreement, Annual Calendars, etc.)
  • Develop management skills workshops / coaching sessions to be delivered to your management population to support the development of the team.
  • Work closely with the Functional Leader to review employee productivity taking accountability for supporting the functions to ensure the effective management of resources, managing level of absence and attendance etc
  • Close management of headcount and employment costs within the region providing monthly data to support with company forecasts.

The Successful Applicant

  • You hold a Bachelor or Master Degree in a relevant field
  • You can show more than 3 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Experience to work in an international work environment, with multinational Corporations a plus.
  • Ability to foster change and promote and implement improvement.
  • Excellent attention to detail; high level of accuracy and proven track record of working with deadlines.
  • Presentation and interpersonal skills along with ability to work in a team environment.
  • You are able to act as a resource for employees on HR procedures, performance, career planning and work/life balance issues.
  • You are used to manage social relations and manage contact with Unions and staff delegation
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English, both oral and written.
  • You can demonstrate a good knowledge of both Dutch and Belgium employment legislation.
