Job Description

As a Legal Counsel Wealth Planning your responsibilities are:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on life insurance policies and wealth planning solutions to Belgian Clients.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents related to estate planning, inheritance law and cross-border topics.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers for client meetings and explain legal implications.
  • Ensure compliance with Belgian legal & tax regulations impacting wealth management.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address legal concerns and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor changes in legislation impacting the insurance sector.
  • Support the development and implementation of wealth planning strategies.
  • Support the improvement of internal processes related to legal and wealth planning services.
  • Handle legal disputes and liaise with external legal counsel.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Legal Counsel Wealth Planning should have:

  • A degree in Law with a focus on private law, tax law, insurance or estate planning.
  • Solid experience in the insurance industry, particularly in life insurance and wealth products.
  • Strong knowledge of the Belgian legal and regulatory framework.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Dutch; English and/or French.
  • A proactive, team- and solution-oriented approach to legal challenges.
