About Our Client

Our client is an innovative online bank offering savings, investment, wealth management and newly mortgages products and services in the Belgian market.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be able to manage credit risk within appetite and develop the necessary controls for this business within the Bank's enterprise wide risk framework, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting.

· Monitor the credit decisions taken by the originator and ensure compliance with underwriting or acceptance criteria

· Participate in the preparation of more complex files and in presenting them to the risk committee

· Decide within delegated authority on new loans, loan modifications and special servicing of mortgages

· Review and challenge file credit reviews, internal and 3rd party (originator and servicer) policies and procedures

· Portfolio monitoring and reporting, including portfolio evolution within risk appetite and management of arrears

· Communicate with the Bank's Executive Committee, Board of Directors and regulatory bodies

· Own all relevant risk policies and ensure standards meet regulatory requirements

· Member of the Management Risk Committee and other business line committees

The Successful Applicant

To be eligible for this position, you should demonstrate:

* Bachelor or Master degree in economics, business management or alike

* 10+ years of experience as a mortgage credit analyst in Belgium

* Having a general knowledge of operational risk management, process and controls of second line of defence

· Excellent analytical skills

· Strong communications skills in English, French or Dutch

· Be driven, independent, enthusiastic, and hands-on

· Demonstrate personal integrity, honesty, reliability, respect and commitment

· Willing to travel occasionally within Europe
