For one of their client which is a major shopping and leisure center located in Brussels, they are looking for a Shopping Manager. The shopping offers a variety of shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.

The client plays a key role in managing the Shopping Center, providing property management services that ensure the center operates smoothly for retailers, office tenants, and visitors.

Job Description

The Shopping Center Manager is responsible for the overall management and operations of a shopping center, ensuring it runs efficiently, remains profitable, and provides a pleasant shopping experience for visitors. This role involves managing tenant relationships, overseeing property maintenance, driving marketing initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety and legal standards. The manager plays a critical role in maintaining the shopping center's reputation, financial health, and long-term sustainability.Key Responsibilities:

  • Tenant Management:
    • Act as the main point of contact for tenants, ensuring their needs are met and lease obligations are maintained.
    • Handle lease renewals, negotiations, and new tenant onboarding.
    • Resolve tenant concerns, including maintenance issues, complaints, or operational challenges.
    • Conduct regular meetings with tenants to discuss performance, concerns, and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Property Operations:
    • Oversee day-to-day operations, including cleaning, security, and maintenance to ensure the center is well-maintained, safe, and attractive to visitors.
    • Coordinate repairs and improvements, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
    • Manage service contracts with vendors and suppliers (e.g., janitorial, security, and repair services).
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the property meets safety, cleanliness, and operational standards.
  • Marketing and Promotions:
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies defined by the owner of the Shopping, to attract customers and increase foot traffic.
    • Organize promotional events, seasonal campaigns, and special offers in collaboration with tenants and external partners.
    • Work with the marketing team to leverage social media, digital marketing, and traditional advertising to promote the shopping center.
  • Financial Management:
    • Prepare and manage annual budgets, monitoring income and expenses to ensure profitability.
    • Collect rent, service charges, and other revenue streams from tenants.
    • Provide financial reports, projections, and performance analyses to upper management or property owners.
    • Work to control operational costs without compromising the quality of services or the property's upkeep.
  • Customer Experience:
    • Ensure a positive and safe shopping experience for customers by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, security, and service.
    • Address visitor concerns and feedback in a timely manner.
    • Monitor customer satisfaction and implement strategies to improve the overall visitor experience.
  • Legal and Compliance:
    • Ensure the shopping center complies with local laws and regulations, including health and safety, accessibility, and fire codes.
    • Work with legal teams or consultants for lease agreements, tenant disputes, or regulatory compliance.
    • Implement risk management strategies to prevent accidents or incidents.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Supervise on-site staff, including maintenance, cleaning, and security teams.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to staff, ensuring high performance.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging communication between staff, tenants, and management.



NO Home office, on site position and possibility to work from time to time during weekends (busy period)

The Successful Applicant

  • Master in Economics or Business Engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in District management, property management, retail management, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and resolve tenant and visitor concerns.
  • Excellent financial management and budgeting skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of local laws, regulations, and safety standards related to commercial property management.
  • Fluent in French, Dutch and English
