Job Description

As an Accountant, you will progressively take ownership of a varied client portfolio and contribute across the complete accounting cycle.

  • Record and review daily accounting transactions, including bank movements.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices.
  • Record payroll-related accounting entries.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare Luxembourg and intra-Community VAT calculations and filings.
  • Participate in periodic accounting closings and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and finalise annual financial statements under Luxembourg GAAP.
  • Ensure accounts comply with the Luxembourg standard chart of accounts and applicable reporting requirements.
  • Support corporate tax compliance and related accounting matters.
  • Coordinate information and documentation required by external auditors.
  • Liaise directly with clients regarding accounting and financial matters.
  • Communicate with Luxembourg tax authorities when required.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure that statutory and regulatory obligations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and client service.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate combines solid accounting fundamentals with accuracy, ownership and a genuine interest in Luxembourg financial and corporate services.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a Luxembourg fiduciary, accounting firm, corporate services provider or similar environment is a strong advantage.
  • Good understanding of general accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
  • Knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP and the Luxembourg standard chart of accounts.
  • Understanding of Luxembourg corporate taxation and VAT regulations.
  • Comfortable working with accounting software and standard office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Well organised and capable of managing several priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a small team.
  • Strong sense of accountability and respect for internal procedures.
  • Client-focused mindset with clear and professional communication skills.
  • Fluent professional French and English.
  • Italian, German and/or Luxembourgish would be considered a valuable additional asset.
