Our client is a large, privately held international industrial group with strong roots in Asia and a significant European presence. The group operates across manufacturing-led activities, including flexible packaging films, downstream steel, energy and related industrial sectors.

Job Description



  • Finance leadership & reporting
    • Oversee the accuracy, integrity and timely closing of monthly accounts.
    • Review general ledger balances and ensure high-quality financial reporting.
    • Lead monthly management reporting, MIS preparation, cash-flow forecasts and financial analysis for senior stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, audit standards and group reporting expectations, including IFRS-related requirements.
    • Drive a strong compliance culture, ensuring audits are clean, deadlines are respected and financial processes are robust.


  • Business partnering & performance management
    • Act as a true finance business partner to procurement, sales, manufacturing and HR leadership.
    • Challenge purchasing decisions, stock levels, raw material exposure and working capital choices.
    • Support commercial teams with pricing, contribution analysis, customer profitability and margin optimisation.
    • Work closely with manufacturing teams to understand production efficiency, defect levels, waste, cost drivers and order-based production planning.
    • Translate operational KPIs into clear financial insights and actionable recommendations.


  • Treasury, cash and working capital
    • Manage daily cash requirements through active receivables and payables management.
    • Maintain relationships with banks, financing partners and factoring facilities.
    • Optimise idle cash and ensure loan or facility repayments are made on time.
    • Improve payment terms, cash visibility and working capital discipline.


  • Commercial and investment support
    • Evaluate the commercial viability of material sales, supplier contracts, capex projects and other major business decisions.
    • Support supplier negotiations and contribute to improved payment terms.
    • Assess capex payback, investment returns and treasury impact.
    • Contribute to subsidy, incentive or certificate-related initiatives where relevant.


  • Internal controls & governance
    • Strengthen internal controls across the European business.
    • Ensure processes are well documented, compliant and scalable.
    • Identify risk areas and implement practical control improvements.
    • Build strong coordination between European operations and international group leadership.


  • Team leadership
    • Manage and develop a small finance team.
    • Provide structure, coaching and operational guidance.
    • Ensure the team delivers accurate, timely and business-relevant financial support.

The Successful Applicant

  • Strong senior finance background, ideally with significant experience in finance, controlling, accounting, treasury or business partnering.
  • Proven exposure to manufacturing, industrial operations or production-driven environments.
  • Experience working within a business of meaningful scale, ideally within an international or multi-site structure.
  • Hands-on leadership style: comfortable going deep into numbers, processes, details and operational KPIs.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, audit, IFRS, monthly closing, reporting and compliance.
  • Excellent business partnering mindset, with the ability to challenge procurement, sales, manufacturing and operational leaders constructively.
  • Solid treasury, cash-flow and working capital management capabilities.
  • Experience managing a finance team and operating beyond an individual contributor role.
  • International mindset, able to coordinate effectively between Luxembourg, European operations and group leadership.
  • Commercially sharp, highly organised, detail-oriented and pragmatic.
