As a stand‑alone Compliance Officer, you will take full ownership of compliance within our client's organisation, reporting directly to the CEO. You will operate very close to the business, translating regulatory and legal requirements into concrete, operational actions. This is a highly autonomous, hands‑on role in a fast‑evolving energy and mobility environment, covering both e‑mobility and traditional retail activities.

Job Description

  • Act as the sole point of contact for compliance matters within the organisation
  • Report directly to the CEO on compliance risks, actions, gaps, and improvements
  • Translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical, operational guidelines
  • Support day‑to‑day business activities across e‑mobility and retail operations
  • Identify, monitor, and assess compliance risks and incidents
  • Propose and implement corrective and preventive actions in close cooperation with operational teams
  • Ensure follow‑up and implementation of advice from legal and regulatory experts
  • Monitor regulatory developments relevant to energy markets, e‑mobility, and consumer activities
  • Contribute to strategic and operational projects from a compliance perspective
  • Raise awareness and embed a strong compliance culture across the organisation
  • Support internal and external stakeholder communication on compliance topics

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • A first relevant experience in compliance, quality, or a regulated environment
  • Comfortable operating in a stand‑alone role with limited structure
  • Strongly operational and hands‑on, with the ability to work autonomously
  • Proven ability to translate complex regulations into workable business solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to interact with senior management
  • Well‑organised and capable of prioritising independently
  • High level of integrity and discretion
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and resilient in a fast‑changing environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch is essential and very good knowledge of English
