Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar Jobs Added 04/08/2026Lead complex international M&A transactions with significant strategic impact.Join a best-in-class in-house legal team within a global industrial organisationAbout Our ClientOur client is a leading international industrial group with operations across multiple continents and an ambitious growth strategy driven by innovation and strategic investments.To strengthen its specialist M&A Legal team, the organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel based in Brussels.Job DescriptionAs Senior Legal Counsel - M&A, you will act as lead legal adviser on high-profile international transactions.Your responsibilities will include:Leading the legal execution of domestic and international acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and strategic investments.Managing complex legal due diligence exercises and coordinating specialist legal input across multiple jurisdictions.Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documentation, including share purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, transition service agreements, NDAs and other ancillary documents.Advising on transaction structuring and identifying pragmatic solutions to legal and commercial risks.Partnering with internal stakeholders across Corporate Strategy, M&A, Finance, Treasury, Tax, HR, IT and Compliance throughout the deal lifecycle.Managing signing, closing and post-closing processes.Supporting integrations, carve-outs and corporate reorganisations following completed transactions.Coordinating and managing external legal counsel internationally while maintaining ownership of transaction execution.Advising senior management on strategic legal considerations impacting investment decisions.Contributing to the continuous development of the company's M&A legal function and best practices.The Successful ApplicantBelgian Master's degree in Law.Approximately 8+ years of post-qualification experience in Corporate/M&A law.Experience gained within a leading international law firm and/or a sophisticated international in-house legal environment.Demonstrated experience leading complex domestic and cross-border M&A transactions.Excellent drafting, negotiation and project management skills.Strong commercial judgement and ability to translate legal complexity into practical business advice.Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.Fluent in English.
