Our client is a privately owned international group and family office based in Luxembourg, with activities and investments across several countries, in Europe and the United States.

Job Description

As Group Legal Counsel, you will become the key legal point of contact for the group, covering Luxembourg entities as well as broader international matters.

  • Take ownership of legal matters across the group
  • Review the existing legal framework and identify areas that need to be strengthened, updated or better documented
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, intercompany agreements, general terms and other corporate documentation
  • Ensure relationships and transactions between group companies are properly documented and legally robust
  • Manage contracts, renewals, powers of attorney and recurring legal documentation
  • Cover the legal and contractual aspects of transfer pricing and intra-group financing, working closely with Finance
  • Ensure intercompany agreements appropriately reflect market conditions and the group's transfer pricing framework
  • Carry out periodic legal reviews of group entities
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations and identify how they could impact the organization
  • Translate legal developments into clear and practical recommendations for management
  • Proactively identify potential legal risks and areas requiring attention
  • Coordinate with external lawyers and specialist advisers when required
  • Provide legal guidance to the compliance/KYC function where relevant
  • Support senior management on broader corporate, contractual and legal questions as the group continues to develop


The Successful Applicant

The Group Legal Counsel has the following profile:

  • Solid experience in corporate and commercial law within an international group, family office, investment environment or business-oriented law firm
  • Strong understanding of contracts, corporate matters and intercompany relationships
  • Exposure to transfer pricing documentation, intra-group financing or international corporate structures
  • Comfortable working across different jurisdictions and coordinating with local specialists when needed
  • Excellent command of English
  • French, Dutch or another European language would be an advantage
  • Able to work independently and become the internal go-to person for legal matters
  • Proactive and able to identify legal developments, risks and opportunities
  • Pragmatic and business-minded, with the ability to turn legal analysis into practical recommendations
  • Curious enough to understand why things have historically been structured in a certain way before recommending changes
  • Hands-on and resourceful, comfortable working within a small team without extensive support functions
  • Comfortable taking responsibility and following matters through to completion
  • High level of discretion, loyalty and professional ethics
